We’ve noticed that high street beauty brands have upped their game with regards to foundations, concealers, highlighters, contouring, mascara’s, eyeliners and lipsticks. This is such good news. Not only is there no need to buy with a high-end brand where it sometimes can be a bit of a hassle to explain the sales representative what you are looking for and before you know it you are walking out with products that you don’t need or want. It has happened to the best of us. So hey hey, to the high street where you can browse at your own perusal and be more gentle on your wallet. And let’s be honest, it’s not worth it to get into debt or stretch your credit card for a lipstick, mascara or foundation. Which are these fantastic dupes that are worth choosing over their more expensive brother or sister.
The Maybelline Superstay 24 Hours Foundation $11.99 and Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation with SPF 20 for $8.08 are such good dupes for Huda Beauty #fauxfilter foundation $40, Clinique Superbalance Silk $26 or Nars sheer glow $47, that it seems crazy to go for the more expensive option.Once you have your skin tone worked out, you really can go places with these dupes and girls, there is no shame in mixing the colors to get that perfect match. When the dupe is that cheap, you can afford to buy the two shades if you think you are just that in between shade that is not available in the range.
Use our BBT Foundation Blender at $6.99 instead of the $20 Beauty Blender. With the BBT Foundation Blender you’ll have a reliable quality makeup sponge that performs just as well as the more expensive option. Check them out by clicking here!
Collection Lash Surge mascara must be one of the best dupes you can find when it comes to mascara. It is the mascara that you wished Chanel Le Volume $32 would be. Seriously good. Where the Chanel mascara can leave your lashes clumpy if you are not careful, the Collection mascara does not have that problem and gives voluminous and longer lashes in one stroke. Chanel Le Volume mascara is a firm favorite with many but Collection's Lash Surge mascara at only $6.73 is just as good. Have a peak on how it applies by clicking here.
Best kohl eye pencil on the high street must be the L’Oreal Color Riche Crayon Le Kohl, which wears extremely well on the water line at $8.59 versus it's expensive brother or sister from Lancome, which has Le Crayon Kohl at $26, Chanel Le Crayon Kohl at $30 or the Diorshow Kohl High Intensity pencil which is available from $30
With Nib&Fab's Contour palette you'll get three contour/bronzing powders and three highlight powders in one palette for $20.23. The Smashbox contour palette is very good and travel friendly in its compact case, but comes with only 1 contour, 1 bronzing and 1 highlighter powder at a hefty price of $35.
There are more highlighters on the high street but L’Oreal True Match highlighter is a great favorite as it gives a natural sheen to the skin and is only $12.99 compared to Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick which is $48.
Rimmel’s Only 1 Matte lipstick ($7.49) in the colors 200, 610 (hurry as they seem to be on their way to be discontinued) are the best high street equivalent for the more expensive brands like Chanel, who have their Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick, priced at $37. If you can’t find the Rimmel one, the L’Oreal Colour Riche Matte Lipsticks are very good as well. You can’t go wrong with nr 633, 103 and 104 and these are also only $7.49.
Concealers are another product where you could take your spending to the next level if you would go for the Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer. This concealer comes in a stick form and you’ll get 1.6 ounce of product at a price point of $70. It has an SPF of 25 and a hydrating skincare element ‘illuminating Comples EX’ to hydrate and repair. It is also waterproof and last up to 16 hours. Similar high end concealers with a hefty price tag are, the Diorskin Forever concealer $34 Chanel Le Correcteur concealer $43, Nars Radiant Creamy concealer $30 Mac Pro Longwear concealer $24.
The Collection Perfection Concealer comes in a 6.5ml container and is liquid. It is only $5.05 and is water resistant and last up to 16 hours. The price difference compared to the Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer is huge ($64.95). There is so little difference with how the concealer looks and performs, it just makes more sense to go for the high street option.
Try the highstreet dupe by Bourjois Contour Edition lipliner 01 Nude Wave for $13.72 instead of Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipliner $33.99. Charlotte Tilbury products are amazing but $33.99 is quite expensive for a lip liner.
Or try Rimmel Lasting Finish1000 Kisses Lipliner nr 047 in Cappuccino $3.97 which is a good dupe vs Charlotte Tilbury's Iconic Nude $33.99.
Nail drying drops Bourjois $8.08 vs OPI drip dry lacquer drying drops $13.95 do exactly the same thing but the Bourjois is just that little bit less expensive.
With lots of colors to choose from H&M nail polish $5.99 are well worth to try as they are half the price of an OPI nail polish which are $10.50.
Choosing the dupes would save $299.61 (note that our calculation included the $70 Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer, the savings would be $272.61 if you would go for the Chanel Le Correcteur Concealer, which is $43). It is amazing what you can save on beauty products when shopping around and it might be well worth it as the dupes don’t do under for their high-end counter parts. These dupes rock and are well worth their money. Our Foundation Blender is a great dupe to buy instead of the Beautyblender and at $6.99 you know the price is right. We now also have these fun multi buy Basic Beauty Sets where you can save even more. Come visit our shop and explore the range by clicking here.
